About Me

My name is Mr. Ismael Gracia and I will be teaching modified versions of Geometry, Math Models, and Algebra II for the 2024-25 school year. I have been teaching at Harlingen South for 14 years. I look forward to another exciting year of meeting our new students as well as helping our students become responsible young adults.

Geometry involves the study of points, lines., planes and other geometric figures as they relate to our physical world. Students will learn to measure geometric figures and their areas and volumes; develop their logic and inductive and deductive reasoning skills. The relationship between figures and properties that make figures unique will be developed and applied to real world situations

Math Models is an innovative course that offers students an exciting new perspective on mathematics, Mathematical Models with Applications explores the same types of problems that math professionals encounter daily. The modeling process--forming a theory, testing it, and revisiting it based on the results of the test--is critical for learning how to think mathematically. Demonstrating this ability can open up a wide range of educational and professional opportunities for students. Mathematical Models with Applications has been designed for students who have completed Algebra I or Geometry and see this as the final course in their high school mathematics sequence, or who would like additional math preparation before Algebra II.
